Modern Mama is a business that is dedicated to “getting moms out of the house”. One thing that pretty much all moms struggle with is finding time for themselves. Motherhood can feel isolating and overwhelming when you lose touch with your kid-free friends. Modern Mama is there to help – and now they’ve come to Toronto Midtown. They’re celebrating with an official launch party at Kidville Canada on December 14, 2013. This free event is what to do in Toronto if you’d really like to get out of the house, yourself.
Connecting with Other Moms is What to do in Toronto
The launch party is free, and they’ll be giving away a prize package valued at more than $1000. If that’s not enough, you can bring your kids age six years and under between 12:00 and 2:00pm. They’ll each receive access to Kidville activities, a complimentary photo, and a chance to win some prizes. As if that’s not enough, Modern Mama will also be working to raise awareness for Rosalie Hall. This local parenting resource centre offers support, compassion, and respect to young families in need. Isabel Starck is the Toronto mom behind the city’s first Modern Mama location. She decided to open it after realizing she was naturally drawn to connecting with other local moms. She shares, “We are owned and operated by moms, sharing many of the same experiences other moms are going through.” She adds, “While pregnant, I literally made a resolution to meet moms who were going through the same stages so I could start building my village. Once the babies arrived, my son hosted his first baby social in April, and I knew then that I wanted to bring more moms and babies together.”
A Diverse Range of Events
Modern Mama presents a diverse range of events. Some offer moms a chance to pamper themselves, others are educational in nature. What they share in common is providing a support system so that moms can connect and enjoy Toronto with children in two. While you don’t need to be a member to attend their events, membership does bring benefits, so if Modern Mama is the group for you you’ll want to consider joining.
In addition to the launch party, there are several other upcoming Modern Mama events that you may want to add to your own list of what to do in Toronto. For instance, this week they’re offering they’re offering a workshop on sexual health as part of their Essential Series.
